産業用潤滑油としての調理使用済パーム油の実用化

パーム油は食用油として世界中で最も消費されているが、その膨大な調理済みの廃油は自然環境への負担となる。その主成分である油脂(トリグリセリド)は、調理による酸化や加水分解のため遊離脂肪酸を発生するが、それは金属表面に吸着して潤滑膜を形成するので、摩擦係数や摩耗の減少が期待できる。食用に不適となって廃棄されるパーム油を一般産業用潤滑油として活用する可能性を探るため、四球試験による摩擦係数と摩耗量の測定および摩耗痕の表面観察を行い、その潤滑特性を調べている。
以下のテーマのもとに研究を進めている。
1) パーム油における脂肪酸添加量が摩耗量に及ぼす影響
2) パーム油の摩擦係数低減効果に対する面圧の影響
3) 調理により劣化したパーム油の潤滑性能

Summary

Palm oil has consumed most extremely in the world as edible oil, and its huge volume of cooked waste oil has become a burden on the environment. The main component oil and fat (triglyceride) produces free fatty acids by oxidation and hydrolysis in cooking. Therefore decreases of coefficient of friction and ware can be expected because free fatty acids adsorb on a metal surface and form a lubricating film. In order to search for a possibility that the waste palm oil being bad to eat is applied to the lubricant for general industry, the measurements of coefficient of friction and wear volume and the surface observation of wear scar are carried out, and lubrication characteristics of palm oil are investigated.
Topics for study as follows are carried out in this study.
1) Influence of additional amount of fatty acids on wear volume in palm oil
2) Influence of contact pressure on the coefficient of friction reduction effect of palm oil
3) Lubricating efficiency of degraded palm oil by cooking
